PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Procedure

PRP ( Platelet Rich Plasma) Procedure

Platelet Rich Plasma application gained in popularity in the recent years. It is used to reduce wrinkles, rejuvenate the skin, moisturize and increase its elasticity, correct acne scars and to strengthen the hair. In this technique, the patient’s blood is collected in specific tubes, then separated by centrifuge. Plasma separated from erythrocyte (red blood cells) contains a large amount of thrombocytes (coagulation and restoration cells) and leukocytes (white blood cells responsible for body’s defenses.) DNA Activator is added to the obtained plasma to reinforce its effect and is injected to the superficial layers of the skin in series of injections. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. Mild swelling may happen after the procedure.

Although PRP treatment is usually received in 3 sessions with 3 week intervals between each session, 2-4 sessions can be scheduled depending on the patient’s age. The results are predicted to be permanent, however one injection per year is suggested.

The fact that the procedure is done using the patient’s own blood prevents all allergic reaction.
